Reversion Procedures for APU102PGN (Network) Back to APU102PG (Pentium)
Required Materials and Tools
- Misc hand tools
- Laptop computer with communication program such as ProComm, HyperTerminal, etc.
- Null modem cable or modem cable with null adapter (25-pin DB male on APU-102 end)
- Antistatic (ESD) wrist strap (included)
Fallback Procedure
1) Put ESD Wrist strap on wrist and connect to ground lug on outside-bottom of APU.
2) Remove the locking bar.
3) Power down the APU.
4) Remove the Pentium N-combo.
5) Remove Cat-5 cable from network card on Pentium N-combo. Leave pass-through end attached.
6) Remove LPM-TX Pentium-N card combo from card cage slot.
7) Remove the screws retaining the PSSD card and gently remove it
8) Disconnect the IDE cable from the PCM flash card connector J9 and the Pentium card connector J7.
9) Remove the PCM-CFLASH2 card from the PPM-10/100 card.
10) Remove the PPM-10/100 card from the Pentium card.
11) Reinstall the PSSD card, being careful to avoid bending pins of the PC104 interface.
12) Secure PSSD card with 4 screws removed earlier.
13) Reinstall the site's Disk On Chip (DOC), being careful to observe correct pin 1 orientation.
14) Reinstall the site's Startup ROM, being careful to observe correct pin 1 orientation.
15) Reinstall LPM-TX.
16) Remove the cables to the COM4N card and remove it from the card cage. Replace with standard COM4 or remove modifications from the COM4N. Refer to COM4N to COM4 Reversion Procedure. Leave watchdog enabled and TI chip installed.
17) Install the original IRQ cable (CBL-151N-1124F) to the COM4-J5. Seat connectors completely.
18) Reinstall the COM4 card.
19) Reinstall other cables to COM4.
20) Connect the IRQ cable (CBL-151N-1124F) to the Pentium card, J4, TDA 104-J3. Seat connectors completely.
21) Connect the 50-pin header of cable #CBL-162-1124B to LPM-TX Pentium card.
22) Reinstall locking bar.
23) Remove ESD wrist strap.
24) Power on the APU and test.
25) Restore maintenance reporting if disabled earlier.
