If it is necessary to revert from the network option back to standard (non-network), the COM4N must be converted back to standard as well. The network option required shared interrupts and standard uses unique interrupts for each port. The non-network version of the hardware will not operate with shared interrupts.

Required Materials and Tools

Upgrade Parts Required

  • IRQ cable (3 connector, CBL-151-1124F)
  • “COM4” ejector tab

Tools/supplies Required

  • Flat blade screwdriver
  • Antistatic (ESD) wrist strap 
  • Wire-wrap tool 
  • 30ga wire-wrap wire
NOTE Non-network version of the hardware will not operate with shared interrupts.
Caution Follow proper antistatic precautions when handling the boards.

 

Procedure to Revert a COM4N Board from Shared Interrupts Back to Individual Interrupts

1. Remove all jumpers from J15, J16 and J17.

2. Add the following jumpers. Refer to figure 1 for location:

3. The Hardware Watchdog MUST be enabled. Verify the jumper J18 is installed.

4. Remove the COM4N ejector tab (held with press-pin) and replace with a COM4A tab or remove COM4N label.

5. Replace 2-position IRQ cable, CBL-151-1124G, with 3-position IRQ cable, CBL-151-1124F.
